APPLICATIONS
How to apply

Initial applications and specific inquiry must be made to your nearest Rotary club or a Rotary district. Rotary in Australia is geographically broken into districts. These vary in size and are not restricted by state boundaries. For this reason, age and other eligibility criteria can vary slightly from district to district. This is because of differing state education authorities and individual Rotary district choices.

Who can apply?

Any student enrolled in full time secondary education at the time of application that meets the age criteria.
The preferred age of applicants is generally between the ages of 15 years 6 months and 17 years 6 months at the time of departure of the exchange. This is always in January of the year following application.
Applicants should be making sound progress at school and have a general interest in people and places and should possess a good general knowledge of Australia.
Applicants must have displayed high standards of personal conduct and attitudes that are widely accepted in our community. They must have an outgoing personality and should be interested in cultural or outdoor pursuits.
Sons or daughters of Rotary members gain no preference in selection.

Rotary is looking for young people who are enthusiastic and wanting a personal challenge and who will be good ambassadors.
